TRIP DESCRIPTION
Your adventure starts at True North Outpost where you will check in and meet your guide. While at the outpost you will have an opportunity to change and grab everything you need before heading out to the river. Once your guide goes over all the pre-trip info and fits you with lifejackets, you will all hop in our river shuttle and head out. In the shuttle your guide will go over a few rules, give you a description of the trip and answer any and all questions you may have. After a short drive, we will park at our boat launch on the Menominee River, where your guide will get all of your boats in the water and make sure everyone is comfortable with their boat and equipment.
Once on the water it is an easy 4 mile flatwater paddle. The 4 miles of river will wind you through dense northern forests, where you will have the chance to learn how your boats move, do a little fishing or just take in the sights. The next few hours will just be you, your guide and the beauty of a wide calm river and Upper Michigan forests. When you get to the end of your trip you will take your boats out at the 577 boat launch.
After your adventure, it’s back in the shuttle for the short drive back to the outpost where you will have the opportunity to change into dry clothes, check out the outpost, get ready for your next awesome true north outpost adventure or head out on your next journey. If you are doing a private trip with lunch, when you arrive, your food will just be coming off of the grill and you will have the chance to relax and enjoy a meal in our picnic area. Either way the memories, laughs and thrills of this trip are sure to stick with you for a long time to come.
