True North Outpost is proud to partner with our friends at Hookin U.P. Flyfitters to offer this unique full-day guided fly fishing float trip on the Menominee River. During this awesome trip, you will pursue multiple fish species, including trophy smallmouth bass, northern pike, muskellunge, and walleye.

You and your friendly and knowledgeable guide, Nathan, will load up in a 17' high-sided fiberglass drift boat with casting braces and padded seats bow and stern that comfortably allow you to stand and cast with ease or sit back and take in the beautiful scenery. The trip includes a hot shore lunch where we can stretch our legs with a little casting from shore. After lunch, we'll get back into the boat and fish the rest of the float, ending up back at your vehicle.

The beauty of the drift boat trip is the ability to cover a great amount of water while continuously casting and fishing in comfort. New to fly fishing or want to get started? Don’t worry, casting instructions can be provided. Getting new people into the sport is Nathan’s passion. Not into fishing? That's just fine, you could go for a sight seeing or bird-watching trip.

Half Day Float Trip (1-2 people, includes lunch) - $800

Additional angler (with prior approval) available for a negotiated fee

50% deposit required to secure your reservation
Final payment due on the day of your trip

Cancellation Policy

More than 14 days' notice: Eligible for a refund minus a cancellation fee.
Less than 14 days notice: We will make every effort to rebook your trip.
If unsuccessful, the deposit is non-refundable.

TRIP DESCRIPTION

Check-in at the Outpost and meet your guide. Shuttle/pick up from lodging can be arranged - contact us for details!

From there, you follow your guide to the best fishing location, chosen for peak seasonal success. Once there, you will launch onto the water for a day of non-stop fishing in a drift boat or specialized raft on the beautiful streams in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

When it is time for lunch you will pull over to the side of the river, stretch your legs, and do a little shore casting while your guide prepares lunch on the bank of the river. After a leisurely lunch and a little more fishing, it’s back into the boat for more fishing!

After you dock the boat you are free to head back to the Outpost for more adventures or a souvenir from your trip. Otherwise, you are free to go with the memories of a great day on the river.

New to Fly Fishing?

No worries! We offer beginner-friendly instruction and alternative fishing methods. First-time fly anglers are encouraged to take two casting lessons before their trip for the best experience.
